Winter photography tips

Snow makes a great subject. Despite the gray skies, there are always interesting subjects.
A couple of tips to help reduce frustration. Try not taking your camera from a warm house directly outside as the lens can get fogged up, just like your glasses.
Let the camera cool, put it in the trunk of your car for an hour or so.
Batteries do not like the cold. Be sure to start with a fully charged battery an if possible keep a spare with you. Try keeping the spare battery warm, in a pocket inside your coat.
If the sky is gray, try keeping it out of your picture.
Ordinary items look very different covered in snow, do not be afraid to experiment.
